Hi came. It's great to be here. Thank you for having me on the mother's Mirada show.
Well, why don't you fill our audience a little bit on your mission and your work before we get to the show's topic. For the past year, I've worked under Dr. Canale at cenomanian and Irvine, which is one of the biggest integrative Center in US. Today we are talking about anxiety and stress, and so we'd like to get started with, I guess really the question is, what are common signs of anxiety and stress?
So anxiety or symptoms? sensation of stress, you more stress, you have your more intense and severe, your symptoms are like retable, feeling powerless, unable to sleep, an ease, having sense of impending danger or do... Increased heart rate, sweating, breathing rapidly prolongs can negatively affect your body, and that can lead to other kinds of things, so why I guess is why are so many people stressed out these days or roll this incredibly fast-paced? Now, we are working 247. we don't take time to relax and get a balance in life, health is a balance to have time to exercise, spend time with the family, with the kids, get a good night sleep.
Yeah, so many issues. And you're right, we're doing too many things, and it is 247. how can one prevent anxiety and stress.
You need to allow at least 30 minutes for proper relaxation or meditation, walking outside, sunshine is a natural mood booster and tends to raise energy levels in your body. You need to get a good night's sleep, at least 7-eight hours uninterrupted. Proper nutrition is very important, food that nourishes and Heal Your Body, intermissions important to have a good sex life, which will elevate your growth or more... And keep you young as well.
Absolutely.
So what is it like when you work with your patients here, Dr. bed, you seem to have a very good rapport with your patients, and it sounds like you're very successful with your patients, so Dr. beta how you are beautiful and you're in great shape, so how do you stay stress-free and... In great shape.

One of my main secret is I've always been active in life, I always exercise, which is very important, and of course, stress... I haven't been stressing much in life, if something happens the way that I wanted that, I look at it in a positive way, like it's not meant to be, so I don't get upset over it, and I don't get stressed over it, and also, nutrition is very important. Always been eating healthy. And one of the secret is, unless you eat you... Lest you ate.
So my calorie intake hasn't been high, have a been eating fried food, fast food. I do it very healthy, which I believe you are what you eat.

Happy to be happy and I always have a smile on your face, it's great. And also sleep, sleep is very important, I always get at least eight hours of interrupted sleep on a hydration actually drinking led or water, it's very good and being out in the sun doing outside activities, and that natural vitamin D, I think, Yeah, that's a... You did say something in the break where when things happen to you, you just have to kind of let it go like... Yes, of settle.

And now back to our interview with Dr. beta, we're talking about anxiety and stress, and in the... Today's everything going on from 247. it's perfect. A perfect subject, Dr. beta, we're talking about the most effective anxiety and stress treatments. What are those most effective anxiety and stress treatments I should be asking.
Okay, first, you could try behavioral treatment, like a psychotherapy in while working with the therapist to release anxiety symptoms and stress, and then you could also add like herbal treatment, like cave overlain route, which can also help with sleep as well, and then other options are like aromatherapy using the natural oil extract from flowers, roots, leaves, barks like lavender or jazz men, and is widely believed to stimulate brain function.
Okay. Oh, that's all good information.
One of my patient who did all of the above mentioned she didn't respond to any of that, and she came to my office and she was complaining, she still feel anxious, difficulty sleeping, and she was frustrated because she tried all the above and so what I did on her, I ordered a simple and urine or a transmitter tests, which basically will measure all her brain chemicals like GABA, which is the calming chemical, serotonin is the Peace Chemical, and we have the dope mean, which is the pleasure can we call, and we have the epinephrine and norepinephrine, which is the energy chemical, and after during that test, I found out that she had... She was not balanced in her couple of her brain chemicals or GABA and serotonin, so her GABA was low and sir on him was low. And I asked her, Do you feel depressed? And she really didn't have much depression symptoms, but there's always sometimes correlation between depression and anxiety, so majority option who are depressed usually do get anxiety, and basically we started her on one of the perfect healthy supplement for mood, and with a few weeks, she started seeing result an improvement, he was feeling much better, and then she started doing the other treatments as well to exercise and eating healthy and... Yeate, nice that you can see that all of a sudden things started changing for her, but you're watching her, but does diet play a role in the symptoms of anxiety and stress, extremely foods will become by your chemical in your body that will make you function better, you become what you eat, you want to avoid caffeine or caffeinated drinks that will make you stress, you wanna have more calming food, like cucumber has a very calming effect. Is a good source of vitamin B6. Vitamin D and is actually very low calorie as well.
I love cucumber, and that is... You always see people put cucumbers in their water to... Yes, yes.
And you've talked about... You've been talking about, of course, exercise, I've been here, you talk about that, can that relieve anxiety and stress... Absolutely, and it will also prevent depression, a single workout can raise your brain chemicals like your DOPA means serotonin or if an Ephron, I can improve your mode for up to hours, also it will increase endorphins, which are the happy chemicals, I think that's one of my secrets. Okay, so that would be like Xanax. And pharmaceuticals like Xanax are bad for you, and why? You can also develop tolerance, they can make you drowsy, affect your memory, cause dizziness, depression. The list can go on and on. What about antidepressants like Prozac?
Yeah, that is actually number one drug prescribed in US, a lot of people are on antidepressants, it does have a side effect again, and usually after a couple of years being on it, it doesn't even work, it just a placebo effect, and it can also cause anxiety symptoms, and it actually makes you worse, I had a lot of patient being on it, and I try to taper them off, and they actually said they started actually feeling much better without being on it, so they put them on there for the whole reason... For the whole reason people get prescribed to be on there, and then it has a backward effect... Exactly, so exactly, and it doesn't work after a few years being on it even, and they end up having the same symptoms, ultimately, it kind of has a boomerang... A boomerang effect, so... Exactly, and they keep adding other medication, they will have difficulty sleeping, they will Trazodone for sleep or Ambien, and then they feel like they're getting some panic attacks, now they're developing some anxiety being on the antidepressant, then they will add like... Something like Xanax or Ativan. So the list will be increasing... Yeah, and this is what I'm always amazed, and I've talked to other people about this. When you're sitting at home and you see these commercials, when they have these banks, when they prescribe this or Prozac, and they say all the side effects and then they list this huge... It sounds like a whole other commercial about the side effects and the suicide, or the stomach aches with this or this, and it's just an incredible... With the side effects.
So why would you wanna go on this in the first place? When the side effects are horrible.
Yeah, one of the issue in fortunes, if we have a lot of patients are looking for the magic pill, a magic drug, and they think, Oh, this will do the magic, so they don't even think about the side of face that don't even care, they just wanna take that magic drug to help them, and instead of changing the lifestyle, changing the diet, improve their sleep. And this is the other thing I know. A couple of key things that you have mentioned as sleep, exercise, and the trust, Triton and vitamins. Vitamins, exactly. Eating organic raw foods are excellent for you because when you cook the food, you will destroy the nutrition, the food is not as nutritious anymore as it used to be, so that's why we have to add these supplements to it and all these pesticides. So that's why it's very important to the organic and small portions and then take your vitamins and supplements, how did you learn to live this lifestyle?
How did I mean? You grew up in Sweden, didn't you are? Yeah, I did grow up in Sweden and sweet and they don't prescribe much drugs, people are not on drugs. Everyone is biking around, they have a healthy lifestyle. They eat healthy, they eat love everyone. Food is organic there and... But that was... So you grew up with that advantage because that was normal to you... Exactly, and so... And the other thing I wanted to point out that not everybody knows, but you grew up... How many languages do you speak? I speak four languages. I used to be much better in my friend that now right now, and three fluent in three languages for Swedish and English. And my friend is, okay, when you don't use it, you lose it.
Which... That's incredible, by the way.
Most of us speak English, right. And by the houseboats wonder working on my Spanish as well, medical spare, because you're a doctor and look at how many people you effect and can reach out to and help, and so that's... Congratulations to you because you can really help people out that way, but I'm also saying that with that when you reach across borders that way, you are also helping with your organic and with helping out and saying, Get off all those drugs and be organic and help people you are, you're doing... You're making a difference, and I think that's wonderful. So Dr bit to wrap things up. But how would you... If I were going to shop at mother's market and demand, if I were just to look for some supplements of... What would you suggest?
Okay, so number of one supplement that I would like everyone to be on would be Omega Fatty assets, Omega-3s are excellent official oils or crawl oil, and if you're vegan or you could do... She sees flax seeds at least one gram a day. If you have inflammation, you have other issue going on, you could take it twice a day, and for high cholesterol, you can always take even for grand a day, and the next supplement would be vitamin D, which is surprisingly everyone, Latin. A lot of people in California, vitamin D deficient, even though Living in the sunny state, and I guess we don't go out in the sun and we put the same block, which blocks the conversion of vitamin D. so we all should be on Vitamin D supplements, it's great for your bone, it actually looks like a hormone in the bodies, and only a vitamin is protective, is good to be on it. Another thing is good to take his vitamin C, which is good to take, you would take about 500 milligram twice a day and bitter and see the good thing with it is it also helps with your college and body at oxidant is Burma system is great to take and also consume, which has to do with your mitochondrial health and a cellular level, it produces ATP energy to yourself, so you wanna keep your mitochondrial healthy to give you energy, and so you wanna at least take 250 milligram a day of that, and also other antioxidants like less Veria, which is in red wine, and... But the amount that is beneficial for you, it would be a few bottles of red wine and you don't wanna drink that everything, you will damage your liver, so you wanna take resveratrol by 500 milligram twice a day, and with a Afrin, which is a black extract, which make the absorption, increased absorption, and also a current, which is an excellent, excellent supplement to take it... Decrease the inflammation in your body. And it's like America's the yellow partner concentrated, but... And it's a 500 milligram twice a day. And that one also, you wanna take it with biafran, which is that black pepper extract, so you could take those together with resveratrol and other vitamins are good if you wanna prevent cancer, they say the Aces, so it's A-C-E-S, which is the selenium is good for you, a lot of people are low in minerals, we need minerals as well, and then magnesium is excellent to take at that time, it has a calming effect as well, it helps you to sleep. You wanna take magnesia Mallett and her as a bunch of different kind of magnesium out there, magnesium Mallet is a good form to take to 100 milligram at that time.

Green onion thinly sliced.
One quarter cup current, a half cup con pieces, a half-cup. All not pieces. For the sauce, two tablespoons. Olive oil, two tablespoons to marry, one teaspoon spike seasoning, one half teaspoon white pepper.
