Mother’s Market & Kitchen Launches Emergency Food Relief Network Amid Potential SNAP Disruption

All stores now accepting donations, partnering with UNFI and manufacturers to supply local food banks.

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Oct. 29, 2025 — As uncertainty continues around the potential suspension of SNAP and EBT benefits on Nov. 1, Mother’s Market & Kitchen today announced a large-scale community initiative to keep healthy food accessible for those most in need.

The Southern California grocer — known for its deep roots in wellness and community — will act as both a collection hub and a supply partner for food banks across the region, rallying customers, vendors, and manufacturers to take immediate action.

Beginning this week, Mother’s Market is implementing four key initiatives:

1. Food donation drop-offs at all stores
Every Mother’s Market location is now serving as a community drop-off point for nonperishable food donations. All collected goods will be distributed directly to local food banks supporting families impacted by the potential benefits disruption.

2. Pre-built $15.99 donation bags: “Feed Those Who Feed You”
To make it easy for everyone in the community to participate, Mother’s Market has created pre-built $15.99 donation bags stocked with nutritious staples. Shoppers can purchase one during checkout, and the store will deliver it directly to a local food bank partner. Each bag helps ensure that everyone can help feed those who feed them.

3. Partnership with UNFI and manufacturer community
Mother’s Market is working with its distribution partner, UNFI, and leading natural and organic brands to mobilize large-scale donations, ensuring food banks receive high-quality, shelf-stable essentials in volume.

4. Support for Mother’s Market & Kitchen team members
The company is also extending direct assistance to its own team members affected by any SNAP interruption to ensure no one within the Mother’s Market family goes without food.

“This is what community looks like in action,” said Dorothy Carlow, CEO of Mother’s Market & Kitchen. “We’re inviting everyone — our customers, our vendors, our neighbors — to join us in caring for one another. When we each do a little, together we can do a lot.”
