A Century of Sustainable Skincare
In 1921, Weleda was founded in Switzerland, dedicated to the belief that people are indeed a part of nature’s fabric. Their products are grounded in a commitment to carefully orchestrate formulas that work with the body’s rhythms to awaken skin’s natural functions. This is a brand so focused on nature, they harvest ingredients in alignment with the moon and stars. Carefully studying plants and their properties since day one, Weleda has crafted skincare products with pure ingredients because it recognizes the power of the natural world to balance mind, body, and spirit.
Today, Weleda celebrates 100 years of biodynamic gardening practices, their global farming community, and hand-picked, plant-rich products that put people and planet first. They hold their products to high standards- in fact, every personal care product they make is certified natural by the International Natural and Organic Cosmetics Association, or NATRUE. NATRUE-certified personal care products have completed a rigorous audit including a review of product formulation, ingredients, and production processes.
Weleda works in fair and ethical practices with small farmers and gardeners worldwide to source raw materials, achieving the Union for Ethical Biotrade’s certification ‘Sourcing with Respect’. This certifies that biodiversity is protected during the cultivation, harvesting, and processing of the nourishing ingredients Weleda uses.
Since its inception, Weleda has respected the environment and natural resources.
Its origins are based on the belief that every person and company have a responsibility to keep eco-systems as intact as possible. In addition to seeking solutions to continually improve manufacturing processes, Weleda has partnered with the innovative recycling organization TerraCycle®, demonstrating its commitment to treating our resources with respect.
Today, Weleda continues the mission it started a century ago- crafting clean, thoughtful products of the highest standards, so people can continue to experience the benefits of nature for years to come.
